Selection Criteria
The material included in Church Missionary Society Periodicals has been selected in close collaboration with academic subject experts, collections specialists at participating libraries and archives, and under the guidance of the Editorial Board.
The periodicals selected for inclusion represent a broad view of the Church Mission Society’s activities, reflecting not just a global geographical scope but a variety of readership demographics – including titles with content adapted to be either more or less expensive, titles aimed at children, annual reports, illustration-heavy titles, and titles exclusively focusing on particular areas of missionary work, such as medicine or with women and children.
A note on exclusions
Where exclusions have been made, this is largely due to:
- Collections falling outside the defined remit of this resource
- Existing open-access content
